Acamar Films strengthens Bing’s presence in the Netherlands, Nordics and other markets with new broadcast deals

Acamar Films’ hit pre-school series Bing continues to grow, with a number of broadcasters showing commitment in the Netherlands, Nordics, Poland, Portugal and Canada, signing new broadcast deals in the last few weeks.

In the Netherlands, NPO Zappelin (the Dutch television programme block for children aged 2-6) have relicensed Series 1 to 3, following the successful premiere of Series 4 on the channel in January this year.

In the Nordics, SVOD and DVD service SF Kids have built on their existing relationship with Bing, having recently acquired Series 4. This latest deal underlines evidence of Bing’s growth in the Nordics, which has included a 20% increase in average audience share YOY on free TV partner SVT.

Additionally, Bing Series 1 to 3 has been relicensed by NRK in Norway, RTP in Portugal, TFO in Canada and MiniMini+ in Poland, while TVO Kids in Canada have opted to expand their Bing offering, having ordered the latest 26 x 7-minute episodes.

Produced by Acamar Films in association with Dublin-based partner Brown Bag Films, Bing has seen extraordinary success since it launched in 2014. A ratings hit across many broadcasters including CBeebies in the UK, the series won an International Emmy Award in the Kids Preschool category in 2016 and has recently been announced as a nominee for the Rockie Awards 2020.

“We take a highly considered approach to the global distribution of Bing and we’re delighted to be working with such a fantastic set of partners across these territories,” said Eroulla Constantine, Director of Sales and Distribution at Acamar Films. “Bing’s success around the world is a testament to how relatable and recognisable Bing’s everyday ‘micro-dramas’ are to young children and their grown-ups.”  Bing has now been licensed in 130 territories including: ABC and Nick Jr in Australia, Rai Yoyo and DeA Junior in Italy, Carousel and O! in Russia, Disney Junior in South East Asia, KiKa in Germany, VRT in Belgium, Okto Singapore, S4C in Wales, Irish broadcaster RTE, SVT in Sweden, Clan TV in Spain, Puls TV in Poland, CBeebies in Africa, LTV Latvia, HOP in Israel, Czech TV in Czech Republic, M2 in Hungary, RSI in Switzerland, AMC in CEE and e-Junior in the Middle East.
